Short description: Preparing a project of a crop management technology for a selected energy crop species.
Full description: Energy policy, energy safety and food safety, characteristics of non-renewable and renewable energy sources, and uses of biomass. Environmental conditions and their influence on plant biomass production. Pro-ecological technologies in energy crop production in moderate climate conditions. Preparing a project of a crop management technology for a selected energy crop species.

Learning outcomes: 1. Students have a general competence in field production of crops and in raw plant materials. 2. Students have a general competence in energy crop field management and the influence of energy crops on agricultural environment the most important crops. 1. Students have skills in gathering information, recognizing and evaluating crop species.. 2. Students have skills for preparing a written project of energy crop management technology. 3. Students have skills to select appropriate fertilizers, as well as weed and pest control for a given crop species. 1. Students understand the necessity of life-long learning. 2. Students are aware of the responsibility for the decisions they have made.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: credit for a written test on lecture content and from tutorials credit for a project Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): assessment of students’ individual work and their team work as well as evaluation of their active participation in the course.
